Google Go
I just heard that Google has released a new programming language called Go! More information is available at The Go Programming Language.
My initial reaction is that I do not see the advantage of this new programming language.

Google are looking for a general purpose language that can be used for everything from browser/server side scripting to concurrent programming. Go is very much tailored towards the type of problems Google’s software engineers solve regularly. I think the libraries made available for Go will determine how interesting it is to a wider audience.
